LiLo to plead ‘no contest’ to jewelry theft charge: report

LOS ANGELES — Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan was set to plead no contest to her recent misdemeanor theft charge, TMZ reported today.

Lohan was sentenced in a Los Angeles court this month to 120 days in jail and ordered to serve 480 hours of community service as a result of a probation violation related to the theft of a necklace from a jewelry store.

She was ordered to undertake 360 hours of work at a homeless shelter and 120 hours of janitorial work at the Los Angeles County morgue.

The actress was released on bail and left planning an appeal against her sentence.

But TMZ quoted “sources connected with the case” as saying she and her lawyer, Shawn Holley, were ready to return to court as early as next week.

The sources said the pair hoped Judge Stephanie Sautner would not raise her sentence upon hearing the plea.
