Busted teach: I protest

A Bronx public-school teacher slapped with a charge of reckless-endangerment for a protest clash with a cop insisted after his release yesterday that he doesn’t assault police or play hooky by calling in with the Zuccotti flu.

“The cop could have just been mistaken,” David Suker, 43, said of the claim that he pushed a shopping cart into a biking officer, knocking him to the pavement in SoHo during a march Wednesday.

“I saw his foot curled around the metal bar of my cart,” explained Suker, originally accused of felony assault on a police officer — a charge reduced, said lawyer Alexander Lombard, because “they saw the video.”

Suker, who was also busted on Oct. 1 while demonstrating on the Brooklyn Bridge, is due back in court on Jan. 12.
