Stealth strip club bared

Red Hook neighbors say they were promised a nightclub — but wound up with the “Bada-Bing.”

The operator of the Paris Cabaret Club on Commerce Street in the Brooklyn neighborhood promised 1940s-style jazz and cabaret acts to gain city approvals.

But now residents complain the club is actually operating as a strip club with pole dancers and that it’s terrorizing them with loud music and a drunken clientele who regularly urinate and fight one another on nearby city streets.

Although the club did gain a liquor license and other city approvals, it is operating without a proper cabaret license, according to the Brooklyn Paper, which first reported the established was actually a front for a strip bar and subject of many police complaints.

The club’s owner, David Ruggiero of Staten Island, didn’t return messages.

Councilwoman Sara Gonzalez, who represents the area, said she plans to work with the NYPD and other city agencies to ensure the club follows the law and residents’ complaints are resolved.
