Punk with pepper spray sends 17 Bronx students to hospital

More than a dozen students were hospitalized after a punk unleashed pepper spray in a Bronx High School this morning, officials said.

The incident occurred in the first-floor hallway of Leadership Academy High School on Webster Avenue at about 10:15 a.m., according to Department of Education spokeswoman Margie Feinberg.

There were 18 people taken to St. Barnabas Hospital with minor injuries, fire officials said. The school was evacuated for an hour.
