Schwarzenegger ‘banged up’ and bloodied during movie accident in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — An accident during the filming of contemporary Western “The Last Stand” in Albuquerque, New Mexico left Arnold Schwarzenegger worse for wear Thursday.

“Got a little banged up on set today. Thanks to the medical staff who got me back in action an hour later!” Schwarzenegger wrote on Twitter, alongside a photograph showing the former California “Governator” with what appeared to be a bloody cut running down from the middle of his forehead.

He did not provide details of the accident.

Schwarzenegger is shooting “The Last Stand” — in which he plays a small town sheriff who takes on a drug kingpin — in Albuquerque, where he has thrilled star-spotting locals.

He has also been posting tweets and pictures about his off-set activities, which have included sightseeing and shopping for warm clothing for cast members.

The 64-year-old Hollywood star has been keeping busy since leaving the governor’s office in January — opening a Schwarzenegger museum in his Austrian hometown, commissioning several bronze statues of himself and filming “The Expendables 2.”

Schwarzenegger’s private life came under intense scrutiny earlier this year after it was revealed that he fathered a child with his housekeeper during his marriage to Maria Shriver.

The couple, who are in the process of getting a divorce after 25 years of marriage, have four children together.
