NFL Network to press TWC

Largely shut out of the New York market, NFL Network will put pressure on Time Warner Cable by teasing viewers of tomorrow night’s Jets game with promotions of the network’s most popular shows and upcoming games.

The game will air exclusively across the country on the NFL Network, but will be offered locally on Channel 11.

The network and TWC have been in on-and-off negotiations for a carriage deal for years, but they left the bargaining table on Oct. 7 with no future talks slated.

NFL Network, which isn’t carried by Cablevision either but has a deal with Verizon FiOS, is attempting to up the ante by promoting NFL Network and NFL RedZone coverage to entice viewers to call their cable company and request that it carry the network.

Time Warner Cable and NFL Network both declined comment.
