His just desserts

A conniving Queens private investigator obsessed with TV detective dramas was convicted yesterday of raping his ex-girlfriend then setting her up to be arrested to cover the brutal crime.

A Queens jury deliberated a day and a half before finding Jerry Ramrattan, 39, guilty of binding and gagging his ex with duct tape before sexually assaulting her in her Far Rockaway home.

As if being a rape victim weren’t bad enough, Seemona Sumasar found herself months later on the wrong side of the law after she was framed by Ramrattan, arrested for a string of armed robberies that never happened, and thrown in jail.

The restaurant owner was separated from her daughter for seven months while she languished in a prison cell.

Now, with all the drama behind her and her ex locked away in jail as she was just a year ago, Sumasar said yesterday she is looking forward to a normal holiday where she can truly give thanks.

“It’s finally over,” a relieved Sumasar said outside court. “Considering where I was last year, in jail, I‘ll definitely be celebrating Thanksgiving this year.”

Sumasar gasped and started to cry when jury forewoman Caryn Eyring-Swick read the verdict shortly after noon. Ramrattan stared straight ahead, stunned.

Sumasar said she dumped Ramrattan after learning he was still married, but that he kept pursuing her.

“I just can’t believe all of this has happened,” Sumasar said. “It’s hard to look back at this person and wonder where his conscience was to do this to me. I don’t hate him. It would make me bitter and I don’t want to be bitter. He got what he deserved.”

Officials said Sumasar was falsely accused of impersonating a police officer and robbing three people who were hired by Ramrattan to stage the phony crimes in an attempt to discredit her as a witness at the rape trial.

Cops and prosecutors began to listen to Sumasar when one of the stooges confessed his role.

The three false victims, Rajive Muhammad, Terrell Lovell and Luz Johnson, have already been convicted of perjury charges

Ramrattan was convicted of rape, perjury and tampering with a witness, among other charges. He faces more than 25 years at his sentencing Jan. 4.
