Nets rookie packs bag for Poland

The Nets rookie power forward is going the way of the point guards: overseas.

Jordan Williams, the Nets’ second-round pick from Maryland, has signed to play in Poland during the NBA lockout.

Williams, a 6-foot-10 power forward, becomes the fourth Net accepting a foreign offer. The first three are point guards: Deron Williams is in Turkey, Jordan Farmar is in Israel and Sundiata Gaines is in Georgia.

Williams has an out in his contract to return to the NBA if the lockout ends.

“It’s a terrific opportunity for Jordan to compete against quality players and to continue to play and grow as an NBA player,” said Williams’ agent, Andy Miller, who has another client, Gani Lawal, playing for the Polish team, Zastal Zielona Gora. “We have a track record with [the team] and they have treated Gani well. This was a pro-active move. It’s a win-win for both sides.”
