A Warrior’s Heart

Kellan Lutz, the least credible high school student since Johnny Depp patrolled Jump Street, is troubled lacrosse player Conor in this risible attempt to bank on the “Twilight” actor’s fan following. His love interest? Why, that would be Ashley Greene, another second-stringer from the vamp franchise.

With an emotional depth roughly equivalent to that of his lacrosse stick, the lunk-like Lutz mourns his Marine dad’s death by getting in fights at his new private school — until he’s arrested for trashing school property and bizarrely spirited away to the woods by his father’s military buddy (Adam Beach), who spouts vague Native Americanisms about integrity and teamwork while making Conor tear down an old shack.

Director Michael Sears’ supporting cast just adds to the hackishness: “Glee” alum Chord Overstreet as a pouty rival jock, Gabrielle Anwar as Conor’s bleary mom and William Mapother, the coach, who warns his daughter — Greene — to stay away from that boy, he’s trouble.
