Bronx bouncer fatally shot in case of possible mistaken identity

A bouncer was shot to death early today at a Bronx nightclub — blasted by a bullet that may have been aimed at another worker, a witness to the shooting said.

The 26-year-old victim, a father of two whose name was not immediately released, was struck in the neck when the fatal shot ripped through a window just before 6 a.m. at The Pit Lounge on White Plains Road, authorities said.

“He was just standing by the doorway and boom, it happened,” a witness told The Post. “The shot came through the window — it was meant for the other [bouncer].”

The witness said the other bouncer, who was standing outside at the time, had been involved in breaking up an earlier brawl between a group of male clubgoers and that it appeared that the gunman had come back looking for him when he fired.

“[The shot bouncer] was gurgling, he couldn’t talk,” the witness said. “We were telling him to hold on.”

Two women tried to revive him with CPR, to no avail, witnesses said. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Jacobi Medical Center.

Neighbors described the Pit Lounge as a dump that attracts a rough crowd.

“I’ve been complaining about that place for three years, but nothing has been done,” griped resident Lucy Srancois. “I’m hoping and praying this puts an end to the club.”

Public records list the owner of the building that houses the club at 266 White Plains Road as Elliot Parisi. He could not be reached for comment.
