Brooklyn judge set to pick jury in bank loan fraud case

A federal judge tomorrow is scheduled to select a jury for the bank-fraud trial of a Manhattan executive who once held a fund-raiser for Barack Obama during his 2008 presidential bid.

Under-fire moneyman Courtney Dupree, 42, president of GDC Acquisitions, is accused along with other workers of manipulating the corporate books and making misleading statements in order to secure $21 million in loans from Amalgamated Bank, Brooklyn federal prosecutors say.

Before he was ensnared in the case, Dupree hosted Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett at his downtown loft for a $1,000-a-ticket fund-raiser for Obama.

Dupree, a former Tar Heel basketball player at the University of North Carolina, has denied wrongdoing.
