Have a seat with ‘Friends’ for 4G

LOS ANGELES — The faded orange couch from the popular sitcom “Friends” will go up for auction.

The mohair fabric furniture piece, from the show’s fictional coffee shop, Central Perk, is estimated to sell for anywhere between $4,000 and $6,000, Profiles in History auctioneers said yesterday.

Another iconic piece of decor from the show’s set, a pale golden yellow frame from the door of the apartment of Monica Geller, the role played by actress Courteney Cox, will also go on sale and could yield up to $2,000.

Other items set to go up on the auction block include coffee-cup art by pop artist Burton Morris from the Central Perk set, the “Homemade Pickles 1 cent” crockery jar and the Jouets Rocking Horse print used to decorate Geller’s apartment.

The items from “Friends” will be included in the Icons of Hollywood sale on Dec. 15 and 16 in Beverly Hills.

The NBC sitcom, also starring Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, ran for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004.
