The Devils on Friday called up defensemen Matt Taormina and Alexander Urbom from Albany, with backliners Andy Greene out four weeks with a toe fracture and Anton Volchenkov idled with a hand injury aggravated in last night’s 5-4 shootout victory over Ottawa.
Greene was place on IR retroactive to Dec. 6, and RW Cam Janssen went on IR retroactive to Dec. 3 with a bruised sternum. Janssen practiced with the team Friday, as did Taormina and Urbom; Volchenkov did not.
The Canadiens visit New Jersey tomorrow afternoon.
