The Yankees officially re-signed starting pitcher Freddy Garcia to a one-year deal Friday morning.
Garcia rejoins the Yankees rotation alongside CC Sabathia, Ivan Nova, Phil Hughes and A.J. Burnett.
The deal is worth $4M and Garcia can earn up to $1.575 million in incentives. The two-time all-star made $1.5 million with the Yankees last season after winning 12 games with the White Sox in 2010.
The 35-year-old righty went 12-8 with a 3.62 ERA in 25 starts with the Yankees last season but was 0-1 with a 5.06 ERA in the Bombers’ ALDS loss to the Tigers.
The Yankees designated outfielder Colin Curtis for assignment to make room for Garcia on the 40-man roster.
