Feds slam Michael Douglas’ son’s ‘phony’ prison heroin tale

Actor Michael Douglas’s son ad-libbed a phony story about finding a bindle of heroin in jail, stymieing official efforts to uncover the source of the drugs, the feds said today.

Cameron Douglas “claimed that he obtained the heroin by chance, picking it up off the floor after another inmate dropped it,” according to papers filed in Manhattan federal court.

But prosecutors say a jailhouse snitch revealed that Douglas actually got the dope from a dealer who was later busted smuggling heroin and marijuana into the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan.

The latest accusation against the troubled Hollywood scion came as he awaits sentencing for getting caught with the heroin and a prescription narcotic while waiting to testify against an alleged meth supplier he ratted out following his 2009 drug arrest.

The feds say his lies warrant an “obstruction-of-justice enhancement” that boosts his recommended punishment to between 18 and 24 months — on top of the five years he’s serving under a sweetheart plea deal.

“The leniency with which the defendant has been treated in the past has only encouraged further violations,” prosecutors Justin Anderson and Timothy Sini wrote.

Douglas’ lawyer — who’s described him as “still a drug addict in need of treatment” — didn’t return a request for comment.
