PSAL boys basketball roundup: Jefferson pulls out victory to open Kreul Classic

Jaquan Lynch scored 15 points, Jermoine Fasion had 14 and Jalen Evans 10 as Thomas Jefferson pulled ou a 63-62 overtime victory over Boyd Anderson (Fla.) in the opening round of the Kreul Classic (Fla.) Sweet Sixteen Championship on Friday. The Orange Wave (7-2) meet Sagemont (Fla.) Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals.

Eagle Academy 69, Cypress Lake (Fla.) 59: Najee Senior scored 27 points for Eagle (9-0) in non-league.

Long Island City 66, Kitsilano, British Columbia 44: Kevin Green Jr. had 19 points and 14 rebounds and Arthur Santanna followed with 16 points and 12 rebounds for LIC (9-1) in non-league.

CLASS A

Graphic Communication 69, Environmental Studies 61: Rashawn Johnson scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Graphic Communication (7-0) remained unbeaten in Manhattan A Northwest. Darius Webster added 11 points and 10 rebounds and Shaquille Thompson had 11 points Jefferson Francois led Environmental (4-2) with 24 points and 16 rebounds and Michael Santana chipped in 11.

Seward Park 71, Washington Irving 59: Jason Quinones had 28 points and four assists, Chris Collado scored 15 points and Dylan Castillo notched 12 for Seward Park (6-2) in Manhattan A Southwest. Irving is 2-5.

Brooklyn Collegiate 61, Brooklyn Tech 50: Ervin Mitchell scored 14 points and Adrian Williams followed with 14 for Brooklyn Collegiate (10-0, 7-0) in Brooklyn A East. Brooklyn Tech is 4-3.

Bedford Academy 78, Erasmus Hall 64: Ellis Everett had 22 points and eight rebounds, Sean Snagg notched 16 points, Darren Thomas had 11 points and eight assists and Darien Best put up 10 points and six rebounds for Bedford Academy (8-2, 5-2) in Brooklyn A East. E-Hall is 2-5.

Harry Van Arsdale 52, McKinney 43: Xavier Long had 10 points and six rebounds, Elijah Cortes also had 10 rebounds and Johnny Ayars had nine points and seven assists for Harry Van Arsdale (2-3) in Brooklyn A West. McKinney is still winless at 0-5.

Beacon 46, FDA 36: Alexander Tonhazy had 17 points and 13 rebounds, Jeremy Tucker posted 12 points and 13 rebounds and Christian Filpo tallied 10 points and five assists for Beacon (3-3) in Manhattan A Northwest. FDA is 1-3.

Manhattan Village Academy 69, Math, Science & Engineering 39: Amir Smith scored 19 points and Brandon Paulino and Charles Holley tallied 15 apiece for Manhattan Village Academy (3-1) in Manhattan B-3. Math, Science & Engineering is 2-1.

Washington Heights 58, LaGuardia 38: Tyshawn Myles had 14 points and 18 rebounds and Emile Lewis added 11 for Washington Heights (3-1) in Manhattan B-3. LaGuardia is also 3-1.
