‘Hell’ yeah! ‘Wheels’ to turn again

AMC’s “Hell on Wheels” will roll on for another season.

The gritty railroad drama has been renewed for a second season based on strong critical reception and even better numbers.

Thus far, “Hell” has averaged 3.2 million viewers as AMC’s second-highest-rated drama (behind “The Walking Dead”) since premiering last month.

Its Season 1 finale airs Jan. 15.

The series, starring Anson Mount and rapper Common, revolves around the building of the Transcontinental Railroad in 1865.

Mount stars as Cullen Bohannon, a Confederate soldier bent on hunting down the Union soldiers who murdered his wife.

Common plays Elam Ferguson, a freed slave who works on the railroad crew being supervised by Bohannon.

“Hell on Wheels” also co-stars Dominique McElligott, Colm Meaney, Ben Esler, Phil Burke and Eddie Spears.

“Hell on Wheels” now joins AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” “The Walking Dead,” “Mad Men” and “The Killing” in living to see another season.

Rubicon,” a spy drama that aired in 2010 is, thus far, the only original AMC series to be cancelled after one season. —
