Say you want a resolution

Feeling particularly committed to keeping your New Year’s resolutions?

Accompl.sh, a free Web app, is looking to keep you honest. The app lets you track your progress on your 2012 goals and even share your objectives with others to get encouragement or ideas on other things you might want to achieve.

After you sign up, you can create a list of goals for the year. Once you’ve entered at least 10 goals, you can lock your list and monitor your progress on each objective on Accompl.sh’s Web site.

After you lock your list, though, you can’t edit your goals except to fix typos or other minor errors that don’t alter the essence of the goal.

While your list is unlocked, though, you can edit or delete your goals, or change their order in your list by clicking on up-and-down arrows on the left-hand side of each goal and dragging and dropping them into their desired new positions.

Once you’ve locked your list, a progress bar appears that will visually chart how many of your objectives for the year you’ve completed. If your goal is a regularly scheduled activity like showing up for work on time, you can enter how often you’ve succeeded at this task. You can also add a photo or choose a category for each goal and click on a clock icon when you’re working on it and a check mark after you’ve completed it.

Accompl.sh also encourages you to explore publicly shared goals and create or join multiplayer challenges.

You can also choose whether you’d like to share your goals with everyone or a select group of people, or restrict it so you’re the only one that can see your objectives.

While the main app is free, in order to create more than one list on the same account, you need to purchase credits, which cost $1 for each new list. Accompl.sh also has a premium subscription service with various perks.
