Ramon still No. 1 New York jockey

The final tallies for 2011 are in, and Ramon Dominguez captured his third straight NYRA riding title since moving to New York with 321 wins, far outpacing runner-up Cornelio Velasquez (193 wins) and Javier Castellano (170).

Dominguez also won the nation’s money title with purses earnings of $20,264,822.

Todd Pletcher won the NYRA training title with 118 winners to Rudy Rodriguez’ 85, and he led the nation with 43 graded stakes victories and $17,186,956 in earnings.

Flying Zee Stables, whose longtime chief Carl Lizza passed away July 8, was NYRA’s leading owner with 59 winners.
