Big bucks in ‘store’ for cop’s fund

The Peter Figoski Scholarship Fund — which has topped $1.9 million in donations — will get a major boost today from a special supermarket fund-raiser benefitting the NYPD hero’s four grieving daughters.

Fairway Market will donate 10 percent of the proceeds of all of its sales made between 3 and 10 p.m. at three of its stores — Red Hook, Brooklyn; Douglaston, Queens; and Plainview, LI.

Detective Figoski was gunned down Dec. 12 as he responded to a Brooklyn home invasion.

Days later, the New York Post and the New York City Police Foundation launched the fund to benefit the higher education of his daughters: Christine, 19, an undergrad at SUNY Oneonta; Caitlyn, 18, a SUNY Plattsburgh undergrad; and Caroline, 16, and Corinne, 14, high-school students in West Babylon, LI.

Direct donations to the fund are tax-deductible and can be made by mailing checks to the charity’s addresses.

Credit- and debit-card donations can be made online at www.nycpolicefoundation.org Mail and online donations should be clearly marked for the Peter Figoski Scholarship Fund.
