Christie loud & proud for his man

EXETER, NH — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie brought his “loud mouth” to New Hampshire yesterday to stump for Republican front-runner Mitt Romney just days before the nation’s first presidential primary.

“This guy says he’s a loudmouth from New Jersey, but don’t you believe it — he’s a lot smarter than that,” Romney said as he introduced Christie, one of his biggest supporters.

“He knows how to make things happen,” he added. “He is going to make it happen tonight. He’s going to tell us how to win this election New Jersey-style.”

Before a packed high school gymnasium in Exeter, Christie praised the former Massachusetts governor and said he is the only one with the right plan to beat President Obama in November.

“We can no longer put up with the most pessimistic man I’ve ever seen in the Oval Office — President Obama,” Christie told the crowd. “I’ve got a message for you, Mr. President: Bring our country together; stop dividing it.”

The tough-talking Christie showed off his famous pugnacious style when an Occupy Wall Street-inspired protester tried to shout him down with a chant accusing Christie of killing jobs.

Christie stopped talking, walked to the edge of the stage and spoke directly to the protester.

“Really,” he said, to the delight of the crowd. “Something might go down, sweetheart, but it ain’t gonna be jobs.”

Romney and Christie stood onstage in front of a large American flag, in what could be a preview of political things to come.

Christie has said he might be open to accepting the ticket’s No. 2 spot.
