Man killed in Bx. shooting previously injured in August shootout

A gun-toting thug fatally shot a man in the Bronx yesterday, police said.

The victim, Ricky Rodriguez-Recio, 20, was believed to be the intended target of a shooting in August that left a 2-year-old critically injured, sources said.

The victim was outside of his home on East 181st Street in Bronx Park South at 6:17 p.m. when an unknown gunman opened fire striking him in the chest and hitting another man in the hand, cops said.

Rodriguez-Recio was previously shot in the lower back on August 29 when Luis More, 23, opened fire at him, striking two children playing outside.

Patience Boyd, 2, was shot in the head and her sister Jaelyn Rodriguez, 6, was hit in the neck. More was charged with attempted murder and is being held without bail at Rikers Island.

Rodriguez-Recio was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital where he died.

The 28-year-old who was shot in the hand was taken to Montefiore Hospital in stable condition.

Police did not know what sparked the violence.
