PSAL boys basketball roundup: Gordon, Hunter top East Harlem Pride

Sam Gordon had 25 points, 15 rebounds and five assists as Hunter College HS topped East Harlem Pride, 79-73, in Manhattan A East boys basketball on Wednesday.

Joseph Gary had 16 points and seven rebounds, Kadeem Nibbs had 14 points and 12 rebounds and Fabien Bessez had 12 points for Hunter (10-1), which trails Norman Thomas by one game for the division lead. East Harlem Pride is 7-5.

Long Island City 61, Francis Lewis 49: Kevin Green Jr. had 16 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, Xavier Jones added 14 points and Arthur Santanna tallied 12 points and 11 rebounds for Long Island City (16-1, 10-0), which prevailed thanks to a 15-4 fourth quarter and clinched at least a tie of its second straight division title. Lewis (6-4) saw its six-game league win streak snapped.

Law & Technology 80, Erasmus Hall 58: Ibra Toure poured in 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, Matt Hall had 23 points and Juan Ramos added 14 for Law & Technology (12-6, 7-4) in Brooklyn A East. Erasmus is 3-8.

Stuyvesant 63, Seward Park 42: Quinn Hood scored 16 points and Roy Vlcek and Abid Choudhury tallied 13 points apiece for Stuyvesant (8-4) in Manhattan A Southwest. Seward Park is 7-5.

Richard Green 75, Julia Richman 55: Kenneth Johnson had 24 points, eight rebounds and six assists, Antonio Dabrio added 14 points and 12 rebounds and Irvin Collins Jr. followed with 13 points, 12 rebounds and six assists for Richard Green (6-6) in Manhattan A East. Julia Richman is 2-10.

Environmental Studies 53, Martin Luther King Jr. 50: Jefferson Francois had 18 points and 19 rebounds, Alejandro Vinueza had 18 points and four assists and Michael Santana had 10 points and eight assists for Environmental (7-3) in Manhattan A Northwest. Michael Bush and Miguel Velez each scored 13 points for MLK (5-4).

Bread & Roses 61, Beacon 58: Darryl Bishop had 17 points, 17 rebounds and seven assists and Sean Eford had 11 points and 11 rebounds for Bread & Roses (3-4) in Manhattan A Northwest. Beacon is 5-5.

Mott Haven 102, Smith 56: Hakeem Grant scored 31 points, Bright Attkorah had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Robert Lloyd followed with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for Mott Haven (13-4, 11-1), which led 53-26 at halftime, in Bronx A East. Smith is 3-8.

Taft 56, Bronx Science 42: Richard Lue had 19 points and six assists and Elvin Santana Ozuna had 19 points and 12 rebounds for Taft (9-4) in Bronx A West. Preet Singh scored 12 points for Bronx Science (7-6).

Roosevelt 58, DeWitt Clinton 52: Derrick Madden scored 17 points, Robert Pace had 14 points and Robert Thompson had 11 for Roosevelt (7-5) in Bronx B East. Clinton is 8-5.

Columbus 54, Jane Addams 39: Donivan Gray scored 12 points and Xavier Norgbey and Kris Satterfield each added 11 for Columbus (8-5) in Bronx A East. Jane Addams is 1-12.

Telecommunications 51, Midwood 45: Roger Clarke Jr. scored 13 points and Xanique Herasme and Donte Jones had 10 apiece for Telecom (8-2), which leads Lafayette by a game in Brooklyn A South. Midwood is now 3-7.

FDR 67, Lafayette 64: Mohamad Alzindani scored 21 points, Valdet Djombalic had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Egzon Gjonbalaj added nine points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for FDR (5-5) in Brooklyn A South. Lafayette is now 7-2, a game behind Telecom for the division lead.

Queens HS of Teaching 69, Newtown 58: Isaiah Hayes had 23 points and 18 rebounds, Denzel Thomas added 18 points and 11 rebounds and James Adaya followed with 12 points for QHST (6-4) in Queens A West. Newtown is also 6-4.

Curtis 67, New Dorp 43: Dontay Jackson sank five 3-pointers and scored 29 points and Jamel Olorunoje had 11 points for Curtis (13-1, 9-0) in Staten Island A. New Dorp is 6-12 overall and 3-6 in league.

Tottenville 67, Port Richmond 36: Nakye Sanders scored 18 points and Michael Michail had 14 for Tottenville (9-5, 7-3) in Staten Island A. Port Richmond is 1-16 and 0-9.

McKee/Staten Island Tech 80, Petrides 69: Kareem Martin made four 3-pointers and dropped in 31 points, Osa Izevbuwa had 17 points and Chris Smith had 10 for MSIT (12-6, 8-1) in Staten Island A. Trevor McGhie had 25 points for Petrides (3-14, 1-10)

Newcomers 73, Robert F. Wagner Jr. 45: Larry Baez had 28 points and four assists and Cristian Zapata had 14 points for Newcomers (9-0) in Queens B West. Carvell Williams had 27 points and 11 rebounds for Robert F. Wagner Jr. (5-4).
