Three cars torched in a Jewish neighborhood of Brooklyn last year may have been targeted in an insurance scam instead of a hate crime, sources told The Post.
“From day one, cops didn’t believe that it was an anti-Semitic incident because you never see Swastikas and KKK signs together,” said one community source who works closely with the police. “The cops believe that it’s a possible insurance scam — a cover up,” said the source.
On Nov. 11, a mysterious miscreant firebombed the trio of parked cars along a quiet tree-lined block in Midwood, and then scrawled hate-filled messages across the charred carcasses.
The shocking incident caught the eye of the city’s top officials, including Mayor Bloomberg, who publicly condemned it.
No one has been arrested.
