Man killed after being run over by 2 cars in B’klyn

A pedestrian was killed this morning in Williamsburg after he was hit by two cars, authorities said.

Lepoldo Hernandez, 57, was on his way to meet his ride to work at 6 a.m. when he crossed midblock on Borinquen Place near Keap Street and was hit by a car headed eastbound, cops said.

The victim was laying in the street when Angelo DeLeon, who was driving a Honda minivan and couldn’t see the man, hit him a second time.

“I’m sorry for the person and for the family of the person,” said a shaken and upset DeLeon.

Hernandez, a member of the Local 32BJ, was headed to meet his friend and co-worker, Rommel Morales, with whom he carpooled everyday to a job they were working on Long Island.

“The family is having a nervous breakdown right now,” Morales said. “I can’t even talk to them.”

Morales went on to say that Hernandez was a good husband and had a 15-year-old child.

“I can barely speak,” said Hernandez wife, Maricela, 47. “Why did this happen to him? I dont want to believe this.”

Hernandez son, Rainell, called his father a “great man.”

“He was just trying to make a living. I dont know what we are going to do without him.”

Both drivers remained at the scene and no criminality is suspected, police said.

“We were such good friends. I can’t believe he’s gone,” Morales said.
