Phyllis’ ‘Bold’ return

So what’s a few years between old friends?

Phyllis Diller, 94, is returning to “The Bold and the Beautiful” for a two-episode run.

Diller will reprise her role as Gladys Pope, the makeup artist who was a recurring character on the CBS soap from 1995-2004, according to tvguide.com.

During her initial run on the show, Gladys was best friends with dress designer Sally Spectra, played by Darlene Conley.

(Conley died in 2007 at the age of 72.)

The duo was known for their shenanigans, and “the dizzy dames shared many a Lucy and Ethel-type escapade,” according to the tvguide.com report (alluding to the characters played by Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance in “I Love Lucy”).

Gladys will return with a new job and will be involved in a “very romantic event” tied to the show’s 25th anniversary, according to the report.

Diller turns 95 in July. —
