7 riders’ shuttle outrage

As if 7-train riders needed more reason to hate the MTA.

The agency’s rejection of a city councilman’s offer to fund a shuttle to Grand Central during the subway line’s 11-weekend service outage had them ready to rip up their MetroCards yesterday.

“We are so disappointed,” said Caroline Pauk, 36.

“It would really make it so much easier.”

Jonah Oskow, 32, was a little more succinct.

“Those bastards!” he bellowed.

As The Post reported yesterday, Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer proposed to allocate $250,000 for a shuttle bus from the Vernon Boulevard stop straight to Grand Central. It would have run during the 11 weeks that the 7 was shut from Queensboro Plaza to Times Square.

MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz called the proposal “inefficient, requiring long lines of idling buses and limited curb space to stage them.”
