AFC Championship blitz

HERO

Sterling Moore, a rookie from SMU, hadahuge hand in this game. After missing a third-quarter tackle on WRTorrey Smith to hand Baltimorea 29-yard go-ahead TD,Moore made amends. He broke up Lee Evans’ potential game-winner in the endzone with :22 left, and a throw to TE Dennis Pitta on the next play.

UNSUNG HERO

DT Vince Wilfork had arguably his best game in years, with six tackles, three for a loss, a sack and another quarterback hit. On one first-quarter drive, he threw RB Ray Rice for a 5-yard loss and sacked Joe Flacco; and on the penultimate drive he stuffed Rice for a 3-yard loss on third down and powered over center Matt Kirk to force Flacco into an incomplete on fourth down.

KEY MOMENT

Lee Evans’ drop in the endzone. On second-and-1 fromthe 14, he lined up in the shotgun and ranaslant-andgo and had Sterling turned. But he couldn’t hold on to the ball when the rookie swiped at it, letting the potential gamewinner fall incomplete. The Ravens settled for a field goal attempt, which they missed.

GOAT

Billy Cundiff in a landslide. With the Ravens driving looking for a potential game tying field goal, attempting to send the game into overtime, Cundiff missed a 32-yard kick with just :11 left in regulation. It has the dubious distinction of being the shortest miss in playoff history within the final :30, according to Elias.

QUOTE

‘I feel like this game is on me, and I have to live with that. I let everybody down.’
