Woman hurt in B’klyn crash

A woman was seriously injured after her car crashed into another vehicle and then slammed into building scaffolding in downtown Brooklyn Sunday, authorities and witnesses said.

The woman was driving north in her black Lincoln Navigator on State Street when her vehicle collided with a Toyota Corolla heading west on Boerum Place about 5:20 p.m., witnesses said.

The SUV lost control for about 50 feet — hitting the curb and a tree before plowing into scaffolding at Boulevard East, a condominium building.

“I heard a loud bang,” said doorman Michael Robinson, 46. “At first, I thought the scaffolding was collapsing.”

The woman, who was pinned in her car, had to be extricated by EMS workers. She was then rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where she was listed in serious condition, according to an FDNY spokesperson. Her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

If not for the scaffolding, “the car might have gone through the window,” said Joe Stanfa, 41, president of the condominium association.

The driver’s female passenger, as well as the man driving the Toyota, suffered minor injuries. They were brought to Bellevue for treatment.

Cops said no criminality is suspected in the crash.
