A pregnant 16-year-old girl was killed today when the car she was a passenger in crashed in a deadly wreck on the Major Deegan Expressway in The Bronx.

Daniela Abreu died at St. Barnabas Hospital following the deadly 12:15 a.m. smash-up that also claimed the life of her unborn baby. Abreu suffered a miscarriage in the tragedy, police sources said.

“She was a real good kid. Everyone loved her. She shouldn’t have gotten into that car, said English Aviles, a classmate of Abreu’s at George Washington HS.

Abreu was a rear-seat passenger in a 2012 Chrysler 300 sedan that was zooming down the highway and dangerously switching lanes when driver Eduardo Nunez, 30, lost control near the Cross Bronx Expressway interchange, police said.

The car, which was carrying three others, mounted the grass shoulder and struck a concrete wall. It then slid into a concrete pillar before finally coming to rest.

All five occupants were pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters.

Nunez, of Washington Heights, was pronounced dead at the scene, as was rear seat passenger Jose Henriquez, 22.

Raymond Batista, 21, of Yonkers, was pulled from the carnage with severe head trauma and is fighting for his life at St. Barnabas, police said.

Also saved from the twisted metal was Garcia Abel, 18, who was seated behind Nunez .

Abel, of Washington Heights, was taken to St. Barnabas with hip, leg and back injuries. He is listed in critical, but stable, condition.

Traffic on the highway was diverted for several hours as NYPD accident investigators poured over the scene. The cause of the crash still remains unclear.
