President Obama posed a good question yesterday as he turned the National Prayer Breakfast into a campaign rally.

That is: WWJT?

As in: What Would Jesus Tax?

“In a time when many folks are struggling,” the president said, “it’s hard for me to ask . . . middle-class families who can barely pay the bills to shoulder the burden alone” — making the case for vast new tax hikes so the wealthy will pay even more.

His millionaires tax is righteous because “for me as a Christian, it also coincides with Jesus’s teaching that, ‘For unto whom much is given, much shall be required.’”

But if Obama is going to call for a tax in Jesus’ name, shouldn’t he go right back to that biblical flat tax: 10 percent?

Recall the demand in Deuteronomy: “Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year.”

Obama wants more than a tithe?

Don’t be greedy, Mr. President — we’re pretty sure the Bible weighs in on that, too.
