The hero cop who miraculously survived a bullet to the head left the hospital wearing a Justin Tuck jersey — and was then treated to a surprise visit from the man himself.

Kevin Brennan, 29, shot by a gangbanger in Brooklyn Jan. 31, had just hugged his infant daughter at his Long Island home when the star Giants defensive end decided to drop by.

“I just wanted to show him some support,” Tuck said. Tuck was at a nearby event and suggested the visit after being told that not only did the hero cop survive his brush with death, but was also a huge Giants fan.

“He [Brennan] was totally shocked — he had no idea. He said, ‘Are you kidding me?’,” Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association Trustee John A. Flynn told reporters outside.

Brennan said he was “a little tired” but glad to be going home as he left Bellevue Hospital to the applause of more than 200 fellow cops earlier in the afternoon, just a week after doctors removed a .38-caliber slug from the base of his skull.

Brennan was allegedly shot at point-blank range by Luis “Baby” Ortiz, 21, a Latin Kings gang member, as they struggled over a weapon at the Bushwick Houses in Brooklyn.

“It feels good to be home,” said Brennan, a six-year NYPD vet, as he arrived home and tearfully hugged his 7-week-old daughter, Maeve.

Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said the Brennan’s amazing turnaround has been a “boost of morale for the entire department,” and said the he displayed remarkable courage in the face of deadly violence.

“This is a great story,” Kelly said. “This young man gave his all, we see in the film where he tackles this individual [who] has a gun in his hand. He knew, he saw the gun. And yet he went right at him and grabbed him, and he was shot at point blank range, and it truly is a miracle that he survived.”

Although up on his feet this week, Brennan will still have rehabilitation on an outpatient basis, Kelly said.

Ortiz, 21, was wanted for murder even before he allegedly shot Brennan. He was indicted this week on attempted murder in the officer’s shooting, and faces up to 25 years to life in prison.

Dad Dave Brennan thanked the police for their support and especially Commissioner Kelly, who visited his son at the hospital five times since he was shot.

“If you don’t believe in miracles … You saw my son. You saw my son walk out of that hospital you saw him go into his house with his daughter — that is a miracle,” Dave Brennan said.

“All the thoughts and prayers everybody had prayed for my son — it worked,” he said.
