VPL by Victoria Bartlett

Were they leotards? Caveman bathing suits? No one at the Victoria Bartlett show could say for sure.

Veering off into the ultra avant-garde, the designer sent out a slew of asymmetrical, body-hugging knitwear ensembles embellished with patches of fur and Manning-esque shoulder pads. Never mind Bloomingdale’s or Saks Fifth Avenue — who on Bedford Avenue would wear these?

The minimal, tailored jackets worn over draped dresses were much nicer.
