Carlos Campos

Given the intellectual and emotional domain of classic literature, sourcing a good book can make for some stellar fashion design. Fortunately, Carlos Campos committed much to his presentation inspired by Gabriel García Márquez’s “Love in the Time of Cholera” and yielded clothing as poetic and nuanced as the novel.

Natural fibers — wool, cashmere, silk, cotton — dyed in mellow tones took form as covetable separates that meshed seamlessly in the collective whole. The beautifully constructed outerwear options are sure to be sellouts on the sales floor come fall, but best in show goes to the color block suits that seemed as comfortable on the models’ bodies as a second skin.
