ThreeASFOUR

A quiet but unmistakably giddy vibe filled the small space at the unassuming Hole NYC gallery downtown yesterday, as those who were lucky enough to make it to the ThreeASFOUR show got a little surprise: Sitting across the room were both Chuck Close and Yoko Ono, each wearing their signature set of frames. Elbows were nudged, and secret smiles exchanged.

What ensued was part fashion show, part performance piece, as dancers draped in sheer fabric rubbed glass bowls that seemed to summon the muses. Models were adorned with lace-like leather, fashioned over boots and made into masks. A dress constructed in a spiral shape was like something out of “Pan’s Labyrinth,” while other outfits incorporated cut-up landscapes to astonishing effect. Intriguing clothes for the dreamy, and daring.
