This weeks couple: Tap that?

This week we sent Megan, a 26-year-old social marketing associate and self-proclaimed beer lover, to the NYC American Craft Beer Festival with Mike, a 27-year-old comedian. The pair spent the evening tasting seasonal brews and schmoozing with ale fanatics. Were these two able to craft a connection? Or was this date skunked from the get-go?

He said:

My first impression of Megan was that she seemed very put together. The event itself felt like a convention center full of beer trekkies. We made our way downstairs to a private lounge, where a man was playing blues guitar, and settled in on a couch. Thank goodness we made it out of the beer hoi polloi.

Our conversation swung wildly from bonding over being the youngest child, to work stories and school experiences. After the photographer took our photos, I jokingly whispered to Megan, “Let’s invite him to a threesome.” She laughed, and I knew the date was going well.

Megan is awesome, kind and classy. I can’t say I know there is romantic chemistry, but I’ll be damned if I’m not going to see what she’s up to in the future.

She said:

Mike and I got off on the right foot by establishing some common ground: We both got lost in the venue and were both very hungry. The first thing we did was share a messy pulled-pork sandwich.

Mike’s got a very sharp, cerebral sense of humor. He definitely made me laugh throughout the evening. There were a couple of moments where I thought, “This is really strange,” but it was more because I was at a beer festival in the middle of Manhattan. That being said, Mike and I had a very nice time tasting the craft beers and hanging out.

After the festival, we did exchange numbers, and I’m sure our paths will cross again.
