War correspondent Marie Colvin’s funeral is to be held on her native Long Island today, two days after she was called “a voice for the voiceless” at a packed wake.
The 25-year Sunday Times of London veteran was 56 when she was killed Feb. 22 in apparent retaliation for her coverage of Syria’s slaughter of civilians.
“She really was a voice for the voiceless,” said friend Jerelyn Hanrahan.
A funeral Mass is to start at 11 a.m. today at St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church in Oyster Bay.
