Kony man goes wild

The creator of a viral Web video about African child soldiers was detained by San Diego police yesterday after he got naked and masturbated near a busy intersection.

After his run-in with cops Jason Russell, 33, was hospitalized for exhaustion, said Ben Keesey, the CEO of Invisible Children, the humanitarian group that made the “Kony 2012” video, which was released about two weeks ago.

Russell also allegedly vandalized cars and was possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol, NBC San Diego reported.

A video obtained by TMZ shows Russell bent over and naked as he slaps the sidewalk with his hands. He was not hit with criminal charges.

“Jason Russell was unfortunately hospitalized yesterday suffering from exhaustion, dehydration and malnutrition,” Keesey said.

The 30-minute video about Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony has received more than 80 million views on YouTube.
