An elevator mechanic was electrocuted last night at a Midtown office building, authorities said.
The 39-year-old victim was found dead at around 9:30 p.m. in the ninth-floor mechanical room at 1290 Sixth Avenue.
“Two engineers found him,” said a building employee who didn’t want to give his name.
“He was a very nice guy,” the employee said of the victim, who had worked at the building for five years.
The 40-story Axa Equitable Building’s tenants include real-estate giant Cushman Wakefield.
