PSAL baseball roundup: Alvarez explodes as Bryant routs Lane

Nick Alvarez had three hits, scored four runs, drove in nine and fanned 10 over six innings of work as Bryant blasted Lane, 18-4, in the two teams’ Queens A West baseball opener on Wednesday, His twin brother Chris scored three runs and Adonis Lao, Darlyn Valdez and Jorge Zurita each had two RBIs for Bryant (1-0), which scored in every inning but the fourth. Lane is 0-1.

Long Island City 9, Richmond Hill 7: Eugene Lowe had two RBIs and Kristian Jimenez scored twice as LIC (1-0, Queens A West) rallied for four runs in the seventh. Richmond Hill falls to 0-1.

Stuyvesant 4, Environmental Studies 2: Evan Lubin went five innings and struck out seven for the win, Erick Wong scored twice and drove in a run and Kyle Yee added two hits and picked up the save for Stuyvesant (1-0) in Manhattan A West. Mario Padron drove in a run for Environmental, which is 0-1.

Susan Wagner 6, Port Richmond 4: Dylan Zipf had three hits, an RBI and also scored a run, Michael Bernstein had three hits and Nick Carpenter tossed 5 2/3 innings for the win for Susan Wagner (1-1) in Staten Island A. Port Richmond is 0-2.

Tottenville 12, Petrides 2: Tommy Scarangello fanned 10 in five innings of work for the win, Michael Milazzo and Chris Rigo each drove in two runs and Joe Sessa scored twice and drove in a run for Tottenville (1-0) in Staten Island A. Petrides is 1-1.

Bathgate 24, Bronx Academy of Letters 1: Jonathan Cespedes had three hits and six RBIs, Albert Gonzalez scored four runs, had two hits and two RBIs and Julio Martinez also scored four runs and drove in two for Bathgate (1-0), which put up a 10-spot in the first inning, in Bronx B South. Bronx Academy of Letters is 0-1.

InTech 10, American Studies 0: Arnold Dominguez had three hits and two RBIs, Bryan Gutierrez scored three runs and Eric Valdez tossed a five-inning, four –hitter for InTech (1-0) in Bronx B North. American Studies is 0-1.
