HOUSTON — A man was charged Monday after his best friend’s headless body was found in a northeast Houston backyard near to a chainsaw and a bag of body parts.

Marlon Thomas’ dismembered body was discovered at a vacant house in the city’s Greater Fifth Ward about 7:00pm Sunday after a woman called police, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Officers later found a trash bag with the 35-year-old victim’s missing head and arm inside that had been placed beneath the home. A chainsaw was found next to the bag.

Noe Gerardo Morin, a 32-year-old Houston man, was Monday charged with murder.

Thomas’ ex-girlfriend Jessica Riggs said the two men had been friends for 20 years.

“He [Thomas] was a good man,” she said. “A good person. He didn’t deserve what he got.”
