Longtime CNBC anchor Mark Haines died at the age of 65 Tuesday, the business network announced.
The cause of death was not immediately known, the network said. Haines died at home Tuesday evening.
“With his searing wit, profound insight and piercing interview style, he was a constant and trusted presence in business news for more than 20 years,” CNBC President Mark Hoffman said in a statement to CNBC employees Wednesday.
“Mark loved CNBC and we loved him back. He will be deeply missed.”
Haines, who once hosted the network’s morning business show “Squawk Box,” most recently anchored its “Squawk on the Street” program.
He joined the network in 1989.
