Nets start draft workouts

Having participated in the group workouts at their facility and in Minnesota earlier this month, the Nets start their own individual sessions tomorrow with six players, including UCLA combo guard Malcom Lee and Wisconsin’s 6-foot-11 shooting big Jon Leuer, auditioning.

The Nets, who then have a full schedule of workouts planned next week, have the 27th pick in the first round and the second round’s No. 36 selection.

Lee, 6-5, averaged 13.1 points and shot .437 for the Bruins. He’s projected to be a late first- to mid-second round pick. Leuer averaged 18.3 points while shooting .470, including .370 on 3-pointers. The first group also includes shooting guard Mychel Thompson of Pepperdine plus four power forwards: Leuer, Jamie Skeen of VCU, Willie Reed of St. Louis and Vernon Macklin of Florida.
