Charlie Sheen reaches custody agreement with ex-wife Brooke Mueller

LOS ANGELES — Charlie Sheen has reached an arrangement with ex-wife Brooke Mueller for custody of their twin sons, TMZ reported Wednesday.

Lawyers for the divorced couple met with a Los Angeles judge to present a plan, agreed upon by both parents, for joint legal and physical custody of the two-year-old boys, Bob and Max.

The agreement, once signed by Sheen and Mueller, will not be filed at the court so it will remain confidential.

The former “Two and a Half Men” star and his third wife have been haggling for custody of their tots since Sheen’s downward spiral that began in February.

Los Angeles police accompanied Mueller to Sheen’s home in early March and removed the boys from his care, after Mueller claimed the 45-year-old actor had been physically and verbally abusive to her.

Mueller, 33, herself has struggled with substance abuse and checked into rehab in April. Part of the pair’s custody arrangement includes mandatory drug testing for both parents.

The couple, who wed in May 2008, filed for divorce following a violent altercation during a Christmas holiday to Aspen, Colo., in 2009.

Their divorce was finalized this May.

Sheen also has two young daughters who live with their mother, ex-wife Denise Richards, and a 26-year-old daughter.
