Sarah Palin stops at Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island during Northeast tour

Sarah Palin’s tour along the East Coast continued this morning as the former Alaska governor got a private tour of Ellis and Liberty islands.

Palin arrived early this morning with her daughter Piper in tow and a park ranger escort.

“It gives me goosebumps walking through (Ellis Island),” said Palin.

Sporting a Star of David necklace, Palin did little to quash rumors that she was running for president in 2012.

Asked about a possible run, Palin told the Post: “I’m campaigning for our nation’s history.”

“We just want to see as much of America as possible,” she said.

The former Republican vice-presidential nominee got to walk inside the Statue of Liberty during her hour-long tour.

A brass band played the “Star-Spangled Banner” as she walked out. She placed her hand on her heart during the rendition.

The high school band from Illinois claimed they were there to see the sights and decided to play the National Anthem once they saw Palin.

Over the last week, Palin, who was Sen. John McCain’s running mate in 2008, moved from Washington to Maryland to Pennsylvania before coming to New York.

On Tuesday, her bus tour rolled into New York, where she and Donald Trump had dinner. The pair split a pepperoni pizza as they heaped praise on each other.

“What do we have in common?” Palin said. “A love for this country and a desire to see our economy put back on the right track.”
