‘Cosby Show’ actress Clarice Taylor dead at 93

Actress Clarice Taylor, who played the role of Bill Cosby’s mother on “The Cosby Show,” has died from heart failure, her rep told People magazine Wednesday.

Taylor was surrounded by her family when she died Monday at the age of 93, the magazine added.

The actress played the role of Anna Huxtable on Cosby’s long-running comedy TV show, earning an Emmy nomination in 1986.

She also appeared on the TV series “Sanford and Son” in the role of Cousin Emma and had minor film roles in “Tell Me That You Love Me, Junie Moon” — that starred Liza Minnelli — and Clint Eastwood’s “Play Misty for Me.”

She is survived by her two sons, William and James, and five grandchildren.
