Bus driver beaten up

The dog days of summer arrived early for a Bronx bus driver who was viciously attacked as she tried to ban a pooch-packing teen.

Stangeli Medina, 17, had the tiny dog tucked into her jacket when she climbed aboard the Bx9 bus near Third Avenue and East Fordham Avenue at around 5:30 p.m. yesterday.

But when the driver told her that rules dictated the pup needed to be in a pet carrier, the teen began beating her, cops said.

The crazed canine carrier then dragged the driver onto the sidewalk, where she pummeled her until cops arrived, authorities said.

The driver, who suffered minor injuries, was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital. The passenger was taken into custody.

Cops did not immediately release the driver’s name.

The dog disappeared during the fracas.
