Lindsay Lohan calls off interview with Matt Lauer

LOS ANGELES — Lindsay Lohan called off an interview with Matt Lauer for the “Today” show moments before cameras began to roll because the actress decided she was not ready for a lengthy discussion about her tumultuous year.

Lohan’s publicist Steve Honig confirmed to NewsCore that he scrapped the chat “because we were not prepared for an in-depth interview.”

On Tuesday, the NBC co-host arrived at Lohan’s Los Angeles condo — where she is confined while under house arrest — to record an interview.

“When [Lauer] arrived at her home, she had a change of heart and wasn’t prepared to talk for more than 15 minutes as she had agreed, so the interview was canceled,” according to a “Today” spokesperson.

TMZ cited sources who said the 24-year-old was in the midst of prepping her makeup for the interview when she decided to cancel, at Honig’s urging.

Lauer reportedly wanted to use the interview both for his NBC morning show and for a segment on the network’s nightly newsmagazine “Dateline.”
