Very simply put, to grow US jobs you need to create demand (“To Grow US Jobs,” Gary Shapiro, PostOpinion, June 15). The energy sector is the best area to create jobs and stop our reliance on foreign oil. The government should provide outright grants of up to $10,000 per home/small business to install solar or wind power with ALL the materials being made in the US. Think about all the new jobs that would be created for plumbers, electricians, contractors and factory workers.
The only problem is that it makes sense. Therefore, it will never be done.
