Complex Nets deal complete

The Nets yesterday completed their complicated three-team deal to acquire the draft rights to 6-foot-8 Croatian wing Bojan Bogdanovic, who was the 31st pick.

Minnesota obtained the pick from Miami, chose Bogdanovic then sent his rights to the Nets for cash and a 2013 second round selection. Bogdanovic, one of the leading scorers in the Euroleague by averaging 18.9 points for Cibona VIP of the Adriatic League, is expected to spend at least one more season in Turkey because of contractual obligations.

“He’s just a basketball player,” Nets general manager Billy King said. “His percentages [.452 field, .745 line] aren’t the greatest, but we saw his form to shoot the ball and he can make shots, but I think he can put it on the floor and create shots for other people.”

Bogdanovic was among a draft take that included MarShon Brooks of Providence, the 25th pick who the Nets traded up to get, and power forward Jordan Williams of Maryland, the 36th pick.
